Issues with acronis server backup.
Having some serious issues with acronis backup server 12.5.
When I run the backup to a seperate server via UNC path it functions correctly however when I attempt a back to tape drive it failes every time with the following errrors Device I/O error.
The following steps have been taken:
1) I have run chkdsk /f on the hard drives.
2) Made sure all drivers for the tape drives and the Host Bus Adapters are up to date.
3) Installed a trial version of a diffferent ackup software to confirm the tape drives are working. This worked.
4) Installed a new virtual server to make sure it was not the windows unstallation. Still failed.
5) Ran the Acronis HCL tools. The fail result was as below:
[ TEST ] Reading/writing.
[ INFO ] Rewinding tape.
[ ERROR ] Error 0x40005: Error occurred while searching in the file.
| line info: 0xc41defba28f4d0b9

|
| error 0xfff0: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error

[ FAILED ]
I cannot believe that these three mainstream tape drives would not be compatible with the acronis backup.
I am at the end of my tether on this since I have spent hundreds of hours attempting to get this working so any help would be appreciated.
Enviroment details:
HP Proliant ML350p Gen8

Each tape drive has a HP Storageworks P212 SAS controller with latest firmware (v6.62)
Guest OS for the backup is Windows Server 2012 R2

Many help to save what little hair I have left would b appreciated.
