Licensing Questions

Thread needs solution

2 weeks ago I sent an email to a contact at Acronis that I had worked with previously.  The email bounced back (I'm guessing he's no longer at Acronis), so I sent the same questions in the contact form on your site.  I never received a response.

So now I'm going to ask the same questions here.

We're currently running Acronis vmProtect 9 and are looking to upgrade to Acronis Backup 12.5 (Acronis Backup Standard Virtual Host) in the summer.  I'm wondering what our options are.

We originally bought 18 licenses of vmProtect 8, and vmProtect 9 came out soon after so we were upgraded to that (at no additional cost).

[1] Can you confirm that the new version (Acronis Backup 12.5) is licensed per host, and not per socket?

I'm looking at SHI and CDW, and I see various options:
V2PYLPZZS11, V2PYLPZZS12, and V2PYLPZZS13 (for volumes of 1-2, 3-7, and 8+):

[2] These appear to be the standard perpetual license with 1 year of free upgrades. Is this correct?

V2PYLPZZF11, V2PYLPZZF12, V2PYLPZZF13 (for volumes of 1-2, 3-7, and 8+):

[3] These appear to be the same, but for government organizations. I'm not sure if we qualify for this licensing or not. Do you happen to know?  (You can PM me or email me for details of our organization.)  If not, we can work with SHI / CDW to figure that out.

I also see different "upgrade" licensing options:
There's V2PYSPZZS11, V2PYSPZZS12, and V2PYSPZZS13. These are listed as "competitive upgrade license".
There's also the government equivalents, at least for V2PYSPZZF11 and V2PYSPZZF12 (I didn't find a V2PYSPZZF13).

[4] What would determine qualification for the "competitive upgrade license"?

Finally, I see V2PYUPZZS11, V2PYUPZZS12, and V2PYUPZZS13. These are listed as a "version upgrade license".
I don't see a corresponding government series (V2PYUPZZF11, ...) for these.

[5] What would determine qualification for the "version upgrade license"?

Thanks

Anybody?  We can't buy your product if we can't get answers to what licenses we need.

If I can't get a response soon I'm going to give up and look into Veeam.

Hello Brian,

1. Yes, 1 license per one physical host (VMware or Hyper-V) with support of Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint and Active Directory included, unlimited number of virtual machines + protection of the host itself.

The rest questions can be addressed only by one of the sales reps. Please contact our sales team at https://www.acronis.com/en-us/company/#contacts (please also send me your contacts in a personal message, so that I find your company in our internal sources and make sure your inquiry has been addressed)

Thank you!
