Locations issue AB 12.5

Thread needs solution

I had similar problems with the previous version on one of my machines.  Given that and other problems, which I saw recited in the forum, I uninstalled and waited for the next version.  There is no protection with failed backups.  That forces one to look for alternatives, like weekly Windows Image backups and nightly OneDrive rsync backups of important files.

When this new version also failed last night on a (different) machine after the first attempted backup, I saw the "light" much sooner and saved myself a lot of time and hassle.  I simply uninstalled this newer version yesterday, and I'll wait again for the next version.

I cannot understand why such software, after being out for many years, can fail so miserably.  In my case(s) on the previous version(s), I did not find any errors in my Plans, and my logs were sent into Acronis -- no feedback on those, even though I told them I had uninstalled the software.  (They could have given me feedback on my logs?)  I cannot understand why simple checks are not performed during creation of Plans?  (If they are, then the failures are even more "mysterious"?)

Dear Lester,

I've reviewed your case history and found only logfiles collected in June. Having looked through the logs, I've found messages "An unsupported URI" upon failing cleanup job - this particular issue was addressed in the released Update 1

As far as I understand, your installation has been updated to 7641, but backup jobs still don't run smoothly. I also understand, you've already spent a lot of time and effort on troubleshooting, however, would you give us a chance to investigate the issue with backups? Unfortunately, the old diagnostic information won't help us to find the root cause for the current issues. Would post the error message, that comes when a backup job fails?

Thank you,
