Thread needs solution

Hello,

could someone explain what might be the problem in this situation?

Let's say I have a backup in Deduplicated Location and I want to put this backup on USB drive for offline recovery. So, as a first step, I export it to non-deduplicated Location (managed by the same Storage Node) and after successful replication job I copy the newly created .TIB file from non-deduplicated Location to the USB stick.

But then when I boot with the USB stick and select the exported TIB file, I see that it has no content, occupies ~20GB of space, but containg 0bytes of backed up data and OK button is greyed out.
When I try to browse this backup in its original source (Deduplicated vault), then no problem, but when I try to browse it from the location where I exported the backup (I tried several different backups for several different Agents), then after a short loading I get error with following error codes and messages

Error code: 224 (Failed to open backup 'bsp:// xxxxxxxxxxxxxx' for browse)
Error code: 8 (Message: Cannot browse the specified backup.)
Error code: 507 (Message: Failed to open the backup archive by the ID.)
Error code: 853 (Message: Failed to open archive 'arl:xxxxxxxx')
Error code: 1 (Message: The archive is invalid or its type is unsupported.)

The user I'm using for replicating the backup and browsing the backups is Unit admin and also server admin on the storage node side with full read/write access to all folders.

Best regards
Lukas

Hello Lukas,

thanks for posting this question on Acronis forums!

Please make sure that the bootable media that you for exploring your exported backup is created with the latest (#14330) build. Looks like the media is older then ASN and Agents.

I will make sure that colleague having this issue is using the latest build of USB stick (in case he isn't), but that doesn't explain the error messages on the console side, where I can't browse contents of the backup.

At first, when the backup is located in deduplicated vault - I can browse it, export files/folders from it etc.
But then, when I export the backup to different (non-deduplicated) vault/location, I'm no longer able to see its contents. After short loading it will get me "The archive is invalid or its type is unsupported" error I mentioned above and that's maybe also why it doesn't show any data while using the USB stick.

Hello Lukas.

Thanks for providing more details.

In case if this issue happens in Management Console, then please try another location for exporting a backup. Please check whether such errors occur with other locations.
