Ms Sql backup not able to be replicated or restored
Hi,
I have a Ms Sql agent backup that runs successfully to a disk location on a Storage Node - (the location contains backup data). However,
1) when I try to replicate the backup (or the location) to tape on the same storage node, it gets a green tick but the log contains, among other associated messages:
"error 0xa100ab: Failed to get information about the backups"
2) when attempting restore from the disk location on the storage node, the agent on the storage node gives the error:
"Cannot browse backups of type 'Microsoft SQL Server database' from the selected machine. Please select another machine to browse from."
and if I use the original source agent, I get no backups to restore.
and, of course, I can't instal a Ms sql agent on the storage node because it has no Ms Sql software on it.
Does anyone know how I can move from successful backups to actually usable backups?
Thanks,
Albert

I'll follow it up this week with support.

Same problem here as well.
Backups previously worked. Now they fail.

Hello Nathan,
as Vasily has mentioned above, such issues should be investigated by Acronis Support Team. We recommend that you open a support ticket and collect Acronis System Report from a machine with Acronis Storage Node (ASN).

Hi Maria,
I have contacted your support team several times since owing your product.
The software is absolute rubbish. Every time there is an issue your support team log's on, does something, it starts working then after a week or so, backup fail again.
I have requested a full refund due to the software being "not fit for purpose" and I will be suing Acronis for lost revenue, wasted time and legal cost should a refund not be supplied.

Hello Nathan,
we regret to know about your negative experience with Acronis software and services.
If you do not wish to investigate this issue further, I suggest that you recreate your backup plan with Version 11 backup format which should overcome the problem with AMS database.
