One or more machines are not assigned a license.

Thread needs solution

Hi, I have 2 clients running on an onprem AB 12.5U1.

When i look in licenses, a license for both clients is assigned, one with AB Standard workstation, and one with AB Advanced workstation - all is fine.

However, when i try to backup the client with standard workstation license on the same backup plan as advanced workstation, I get this warning:

A license is required.

One or more machines are not assigned a license.

I have tried revoking license and re-adding it, switching licenses between the 2 clients, rebooting server/clients, creating different backup plans etc. Nothing helps...

Can someone please advise?

Hi Lassen

Are your licences as well registered under your Acronis account? You have to "activate" the Keys there first.

Hi,

An Advanced license may be required depending on the type of the backup destination. For example if you use locations managed by Acronis Storage Node (or tape), then agents with Standard license won't be able to run such backup plan. Please check the settings of the backup plan. See also https://kb.acronis.com/content/59696 describing the differences between Standard and Advanced licenses.

Thank you.
