Operation not permitted Acronis 12.5.8610 and more on Mac OS Sierra

Thread needs solution

Hello Acronis users,

Since the update of Acronis 12.5.8610 the backup of my MAC is no longer done. Mac OS Sierra is currently installed.
The backup tries to start (1%) then an error is displayed "Exploitation system - Operation not permitted"

My backup plan is configured to save all the disks (the whole machine)

Yesterday, I tried to upgrade Acronis 12.5.10130, thinking the problem would be solved, but I have the same error.
So, I downgraded the version and it's OK for now with the 12.5.7970. The backup plan stills the same.

Could you help me, please ?
Thank you

Hello Magaly,

Thank you for your posting! I haven't found any known issues with a similar description. Would you attach the whole error message? Am I correct that the issue doesn't reproduce on 12.5.7970?

Hello Ekaterina,

Thank you for your reply.

I attached the activity log when I encountered the error. My backup plan stills the same, and it perfectly works on 12.5.7970.

But when I installed 12.5.8610 or 12.5.10130, it was not working anymore. The only display error is : Operation not permitted. Actually I'm using 7970 and it keeps working.

Thank you,

Thank you for uploading the logs! I've searched in our internal sources for similar cases with the same error message and found one recently documented report (internal ID ABR-168967). According to the issue description, backup of High Sierra 10.13.3 fails if the archive format was set to 12. I'd suggest creating a new plan with the format 11 ( see Backup format for more details) to check, if the root cause in your case is the same.
