Plan Succeeded with warnings after upgrading Linux Agent from 11.7.50058 to 12.5.7641

Thread needs solution

After upgrading a RHEL Linux Agent from 11.7 to 12.5, we see a strange warning when executing the backup plan:

The following items were not resolved:
('\\local\\hd_ev\\vol_guid(E8F47C44C249B842A8E99ABDC83A0605)','mms::disk::volume',{'4B2A7A93-A44F-4155-BDE3-A023C57C9431':'gct::disks'})
Cannot find item '\local\hd_ev\vol_guid(E8F47C44C249B842A8E99ABDC83A0605)' selected for backup.

The schedule of the Plan is not migrated from 11.7 to 12.5 during the upgrade.

Looks like some bad information (like the disk volume) is kept during upgrade and some good information (like schedules) is lost :)

Hi,

The warning means that some disk/volume ID recorded in the backup plan is no longer valid (cannot be found). The plan should be edited and the source disks/volumes for the backup should be re-selected on the backup sheet. If the warning still persists then please contact our support team for further assistance.

Thank you.

Hi,

Reselecting works only indirect.. - Here is what we tried...

Remove the DEVICE and save -> the DEVICE is not deleted

Reselect the disks/volumes -> now they change the name from the URI to the real name

-> warning is no longer seen.

BUT - what about the schedules???

Günther

Hi,

The schedules migration may not happen if the backup scheme used in 11.7 is not (yet) supported in 12.5, for example Tower of Hanoi scheme and some others. There is a huge difference between 11.7 and 12.5 in terms of the schedule schemes, so matching 1-to-1 is not always possible. To figure out what may be wrong in your scenario, pleae clarify how the schedules were set up in your original plans?

Thank you.

Hi,

Schedule was a simple weekly full backup schedule - only for testing.

Thanks,
Günther

Hi,

Simple schedules should be upgraded properly and I've not found any known issues related to this functionality in our database. To investigate what could went wrong please collect Acronis system report from this Linux machine (see https://kb.acronis.com/content/58301) which will contain logs from tasks upgrade events and contact our support team for assistance.

Thank you.
