ProgramData\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMSData\DML DB3 file 5GB in size

Thread needs solution

ACR 12.5, Agent and Agent for SQL is running on 2012r2. SQL databases are regularly backed-up. DB3 file is growing daily. It took 2,5 months to get 5GB in size (about 60MB increasing in size per day).

The consequence of huge DB3 file is also that MMS restart takes all available memory (physical and virtual) on server during restart. memory goes to normal after some time.

I've did a quick check with SQLLite browser and tables with logs files (Humantuple, HumanNumeric Tuple) have millions of entries.

Is there any option to purge data in DB3? Is there an option to reduce logging? How to solve this?

Hello na na,

The situation seems pretty clear from the description, but I do want make sure we are on the same page:

- This happens only on 2012 R2 machine running the  Agent for SQL (other agents, if they exist aren't showing the same behaviour)

- This is specifically only the db3 file found in ProgramData\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMSData\DML\. (not .db3-shm or .db3-wal)

If my understanding of the situation is correct, the DB is way too large and this looks like a bug. A standard agent DML should be something like tens of megabytes in size. Maybe in a couple hundred in some cases. Please contact our support guys to get this investigated.
