Remove catalog service

Thread needs solution

Does anyone know how to remove a catalog service where the physical server it was on has failed and isn't accessible? I was able to remove the storage node but the catalog service remains on the management server.

Thanks

Hello etiCloud,

It should be possible to remove the Acronis Catalog service like any other component in Acronis Backup 12.5 e.g. Acronis Storage Node.

  1. Run the installation file of Acronis Backup 12.5.
  2. Select Modify the current installation.
  3. Uncheck Acronis Catalog. Leave other installed components selected; otherwise, they will be uninstalled as well.
  4. Click Modify.

How did you uninstall the Acronis Storage Node if the server is not accessible?

Hi Ekaterina,

Wouldn't I have to run the installed on the server that is unavailable? We use a IaaS provider and the physical server that had that storage node and catalog server was terminated (deliberately) but now it's gone - we will never have access to it again and the disks will have been automatically wiped by the IaaS hosting provider.

I think I removed the storage node by going to settings -> storage nodes -> delete on the management server. We still have other storage nodes in service and a catalog service I want to keep. The issue is that the catalog service that was on the now deleted storage node is still listed on the management server. I don't see how I can remove it in the web management interface.

Thanks

Sorry for the delayed reply! Looks like the registration details of the removed machine are still stored on the Management Server. At this point it's worth raising a support ticket, so that our engineers can look into the situation and clean the AMS database if needed.
