is it possible to change the block size for a stand alone  LTO tape drive in Acronis Backup 12.5?

Hi!
Welcome to Acronis forums! Please refer to Parameters for writing to tapes that provides information on how to change the default block size and cache size when writing to tapes.

Hey,
great, thank you. This looks good!

One last question. It is possible to unload a tape after backup. Is it possible to load a tape before a backup starts?

Hello,

if you mean a tape inventory, then we do not have automatic tape inventory which should be performed when preparing a tape for a backup. Thus, it should be done manually . Otherwise, it could be performed via command-line utility and scheduled with the help of Windows Scheduler.

There are plans to implement this feature - I've added your comment as a vote for the existing feature request (internal ID for ref ABR-119005). Meanwhile, you may want using the procedure described in Acronis Backup 12.5: Pre-backup tape inventory.

Hello Ekaterina,
thanks again for the provided information. This helps a lot!
