Some backups start at the wrong time

Thread needs solution

I have three hosts. One runs Hyper-V, two run ESXi. Backups on the Hyper-V hosts run at the specified start time, but backups on the ESXi hosts run an hour late. This has happened since British Summer Time started.

I checked the backup server, the hosts and the virtual machines, but I see the correct time on all of them. The issue also occurs on new backup plans.

What would be causing this, and how do I fix it?

Hi,

The problem might be related to specific time zone setting on Agent for VMware side, which I assume is Virtual Appliance in your case. The time zone settings on appliance may not always contain up to date changes to time zones applied world wide due to Linux specifics (there is no such problem with Windows, where there are native Windows time zones used). You should contact our support team for assistance with the issue and to properly track resolution - make sure to specify which exact time zone you've set up on appliance (in appliance GUI console opened in vSphere client).

The workaround would be to change the time zone on appliance to +1 one.

Thank you.
