Storage node errors

Thread solved

Hello, we have errors in deduplicated storage

When i remove some unneeded backups via management console, free space in storage not increased, I run

acrocmd compact vault --name=selfstore --host=127.0.0.1 --service=asn

to compact store. But after some time got errors (see attachment), and disk space is not freed.

Hello Mikes!

According to this forum thread "No current partition" could be the indicator for a corrupted archive.

In your case the following backup is causing trouble (Read from your log as "arl:...")

  • storage node: 54E308BB-066E-4CA6-9CD8-C9D79F546ADE
  • vault: 8A6C8B77-7BE5-4700-8D84-B777E4893829
  • archive: F6D810FD-FCEA-4CFE-8FAB-C97F2EB9A1CD
  • backup: 12728346-1DAB-43B6-914D-ACF2BABC2AA9

This KB article although related to True Image also lists this error message and possible error resolutions.

Also could you specify if you deleted the unneeded backups via the Backup Console as a Cleanup plan, deleted the backup in the backups view or deleted folders/files while using a file browser?

Hello Mikes,

welcome to Acronis forums!

As Peter has correctly mentioned above and even provided you with the respective IDs, your archive got corrupted because of the backup slice that could not be checked. In this case, you should validate this specific backup manually.

If this backup is corrupted, then please recreate it.

If it is OK, then please reindex this storage node (vault) in order to refresh the archive's metadata:

acrocmd reindex vault

When i remove some unneeded backups via management console, free space in storage not increased

I advise that you click on "Refresh" vault next time to see the size changes.

Also could you specify if you deleted the unneeded backups via the Backup Console as a Cleanup plan, deleted the backup in the backups view or deleted folders/files while using a file browser?

I delete via backup console, vault are untoched by hands in file level.

If this backup is corrupted, then please recreate it.

If it is OK, then please reindex this storage node (vault) in order to refresh the archive's metadata:

acrocmd reindex vault

I delete all backups on nodes that failed (sad) and force to create new initial (full) backups, and operations completed without errors.

then i run

acrocmd reindex vault

operation completed without errors but disk space is not freed.

then i run

acrocmd compact vault --name=selfstore --host=127.0.0.1 --service=asn

operation completed wery fast (00:31:05) without errors but disk space is not freed, after it, i run command again and after long time (07:40:19) it freed me about 3 TB disk space.

now it seems to be everything ok.

but i have some question. What i do wrong? Why this situation occurs?

Hello Mike.

The compacting operation did not run correctly for the first time because you deleted some unneeded backups which led to archive's inconsistency.

I can't provide you with the answer why compacting was not successful (disk was not freed) for the second time when you deleted all backups because I did not see a log of that operation.

However, I'm glad to know the issue has been finally resolved.
