unable to cancel failed job which is showing 67% in progress

Thread needs solution

One of my backup agent appliance showing out of space this morning. After some looking, I found the 'root drive' (/) ran out of space and 90% was filled by files in activity folder. After talking to Acronis support, I was told to rebuild the appliance and I did. However, one of the backup plan is still showing 67% completed and within the backup plan, there is one VM is showing 100% but it's still in progress. Before i rebuilt the appliance, i deleted the agent from management console. Then, remove the Appliance and redeploy it with same name and IP.

I've already rebooted the management appliance and rebuild the agent appliance. How can I clean this up? (stop the in process task)?

thanks,

Aldous

Hi,

The hanging activities can be cleaned up from Acronis Management Server database manually via SQLite utility as described in https://kb.acronis.com/content/60653. These activities do not cause any effect on other operations and are basically just incorrect records in the database. The latest Update 3.2 (b. 11010) should've solved most of the root causes for hanging activities issue, though in this particular scenario looks like that manual cleanup is still required.

Thank you.

Hi Vasily,

I removed the taskmanager_db.sqlite* files from the all-in-one linux. Now, I don't have any activity and the backup plan status shows normal bar. However, the device (the VM) is still showing 100% completed under 'device/status'. I checked the VM, it has no snapshot. Please let me what I can do? last night the backup plan didn't finish because it stopped at this VM.

Aldous,

The issue should be properly analyzed with our support team involved. It's hard to suggest anything without checking the environment and the exact symptoms. The plan should not "stop" at a VM if it just has some hanging activity - the root cause should be in something else.

Thank you.

over the weekend, the backup plan ran and the VM now showing normal and backup was completed fine. So, it may be just the status flag in database.
