Unhandled exception in MMS after update from 11010 to 13160

Thread solved

Hi,

have some "Unhandled exception" in MMS while startup, please see attached logs.

Also any Agent cannot register (as MMS is not running), installer stalls at 99% and giving error message "Registration failed - Backup Agent"

I had a similar behavior after an update in 2016, I had to install from scratch to solve it.

Hello Raphael,

thank you for sharing log details.

According to this information the MMS.exe service crashes during new build installation.

Could you please create process dumps after reproducing this crash (the ProcDump utility should be activated prior to reproducing) and share them with Acronis Support Team

You are welcome to upload these dumps to an FTP link that I've sent in a private message and share this link with Acronis Support engineers.

Hello Maria,

thanks for your reply.

I have created log bundles and tried to create a process dump, it does not create the actual dump but it is logging some exceptions.

Meanwhile Acronis Support Team have requested some more information, I have already uploaded to the FTP link given by your support engineer.

Once we have a solution I will post it so other people may find it useful.

Thanks and best regards,

Raphael.

Edit: Add screenshot

Issue was resolved by Acronis Support.

It looks like the AMS internal database was too big, so not all historical entrys could be loaded into RAM and the service finally crashed. Acronis Support developed a database script to purge old entrys and also reduced the internal databases filesize (was ~4GB, now ~500MB).

MMS is running stable like before the update.

Thanks and best regards,

Raphael
