Update remote Agent
Hello,
We have an acronis deployment with a management server on another location then the agents. The agents can connect to the management server, but not in the other direction.
How can we remotely update the agents?
Second, we have a esxi appliance deployed also on a remote location, how can we update that esxi appliance remotely or manually local?

Thx for the info,
Any idea of the possibility to update the agent remotely will ever be implemented? So that it work like acronis cloud backup solution?

Yes, we're planning to add "pull" update mechanizm in addition to the current "push" one as part of "machines auto-discovery" feature, which we currently work on (internal ID: ADP-138). This should happen during this year (likely closer to the middle of the year), though there is no final date defined yet.
P.S. Currently remote update of the agents in on-premise installations can be done, but it requires management server->agent connection to be available.
Thank you.

I see in the release notes of build 9010:
(!) Live Update will be enabled for this build.
Is this the above feature request? Or is it something else?

Hi Alain,
The build 9010 contains primarily bugfixes for Acronis Backup 12.5 Update 2 (you can consider it as Update 2 Hotfix 1), so there are no changes in agents update sequence - for remote update you still need Management Server->Agent connection to be available. The line you refer to is about in-product notifications about update availability which you can see in the web console (for some builds it's enabled while for some - not):
Thank you.

Hi,
The all-in-one appliance update sequence is described in the bottom of https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisBackup_12.5/index.html#37789.html topic. In short: you need to extract the .iso image from the .zip package, then boot existing appliance from this .ISO - you may need to enforce VM booting from CDROM in its BIOS settings if it's deployed on VMware from OVF. Then follow the on-screen instructions. See below sample screen shot:
1) Choose "Install or update" from the first boot menu and wait for the installation menu to load
2) Then choose "Update" from the blue-screen menu. See below example screen shot:
Thank you.
