VM backups not running

Thread needs solution

VM backups not running, "Run Now" option greyed out.

I had to reload the Appliance and now the VMs are not backing up.

I want to amend my original post to say that I have four VMs that show a status "Ok" but do not run on schedule and the "Run Now" option is greyed-out.

The VMs are on two different hypervisors and other VMs on those ESXi hosts are working properly.

Is there a way to remove and replace or otherwise refresh the Management Console's database?  For some reason, these four VMs are not available to backup.

Hi,

It's hard to advise anything specific without understanding the environment: how many agents do you have registered (Settings->Agents)? Are they connected to vCenter which manages 2 ESXi hosts or are they connected each to its own ESXi host (this can be checked from Settings->Agents->Details tab for the agent)? Aren't there any offline agents in Settings->Agents? If yes, then it might be the root cause => you should remove/power on the offline agents.

In other words some more details are required to properly advise, e.g. screen shots showing the symptoms (from Devices->All Machines view) + clarifications for above questions. It also would make sense to contact our support team for assistance with the issue.

Thank you.

Hello,

Actually, your information was very helpful and pointed me in the right direction to get the issue resolved.  As I said in my original post, I had to reload my appliance (original one would no longer start due to a corrupted .vmdk).  When I went to the Settings->Agents->Details tab as you directed, I found that the old agent for the defunct appliance was still there and needed to be deleted.  That worked.

Thank you.
