Why is "Interactive user" required on the storage node?
I am in the process of converting backing up to an UNC path to a storage node (on the same server)
Before we just backed up to \\server01\acronis-vol1 and that worked fine with the domain credentials we have for backups.
When I installed the storage node on server01 and tried to specify h:\Acronis-Vol1\StorageNode , it keeps repeating login requests.
Specify the credentials for 'bsp://server01/Vol1-Server01-StorageNode/'.
So I tried to specify the storage node path as \\server01\acronis-vol1\StorageNode and the backups fail with:
Error code: 65520
Module: 0
LineInfo: 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8F8
Fields: {"code":"2147943785","$module":"storage_server_vsa64_13400"}
Message: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer
So issue seems to be that it requires interactive user permissions to write to a file share as a storage node (or to a local file) but we have a specific policy in place that we do not allow non-human accounts to have interactive login permissions. Because if I put in my personal credentials in, it works, because I am a human with interactive login ability.
Is there a way around this? If it matters, the storage node is not the main Acronis server. We can call that "Server02". And I don't see why it can't write to local drives on the server.
Again, if I do not use the storage node and I simply use the \\server01\Acronis-Vol1, then there's no issue.
Server02 Runs the Web Interface, and the catalog service
Server01 Runs the storage node service.

If for some reason it doesn't work or I need to change back, is there a way to get the password back for the ASN USER account that's currently there?
Can running other services under this account prevent the credential pop ups in other places?

Hello Stonent.
If for some reason it doesn't work or I need to change back, is there a way to get the password back for the ASN USER account that's currently there?
The ASN USER account that was created by Acronis Backup 12.5 by default uses a random password. Thus, you can change this password to any specific one and then use it later when you need to change the ASN USER account back.
Can running other services under this account prevent the credential pop ups in other places?
No, this is unreal, since the Acronis Storage Node service only will use your account for connection purpose only.

So running the storage node service under the service account has not changed the credential pop-ups unfortunately.
I've also given the service account full control on the directory on the drives, as well as full control on the file shares.
So I put in the credential which I feel I shouldn't have to at this point, and it lets me drill down to the folder.
When I go to Backups and select this location. It says there are no backups. When I click refresh, I get the credential box again.
So I put in the credentials again...
And get this, over and over again. The credentials are fine because I'm copying and pasting them from notepad, and they work to start the service and also set up the location initially.
Also the browse from is set to the same name as the storage node.
This service account is a domain account and right now is only being used on the storage node service and for accessing network file shares in the software.
Does this service account need any permissions on the primary acronis management server, since none of those services are running under the service account. They are all using the default login that it created when the AMS was installed.

Hello Stonent.
I recommend that you open a case with Acronis Support Team. Please share this forum thread with them and ask for remote assistance so that support engineers could help to sort this situation out.

Well I tried just now but not having luck. The systeminfo.zip file I attached is 19MB, the support ticket says attachments can be up to 25MB, and it's rejecting it because it says it's too big.

Dear All,
Is there any update for this issue. I think I am having the same error code here, the problem is we use a service account that doesn't allowed to interactive logon, when I switch the job to my account. it is working fine.
thanks,

Hello Jason,
thank you for posting your question in this thread!
Is there any update for this issue
This is not an issue but a default software behavior.
There are two ways to overcome the issue with a service account:
- create a new user with requested permission and reinstall Acronis Storage Node to be work under this user;
- change the user account under which the Acronis Storage Node service (StorageServer.exe) is launched to the account which has enough permissions.
