XenServer Backup

Thread needs solution

Hi

One of the main new Advanced Features is the Support of XenServer Backups.
How does this work? Is there an Agent to install on the XenServer? Do you have Documentation and How to for this?

And please don´t tell that we need to install an Agent on every VM, because where is then the difference to Version 11.7?

Thanks

Hi Enchantech,

thanks for your answer :-) In your first link i see that i need to install an Agent on every VM that runs on an XenServer. This is not good. That´s the same with ABR 11.7 where is the benefit of the new 12.5 Version with XenServer?

An Agent Backup means i can´t use the fastest restore (15sec), i can´t use Instant Recovery.

To Backup an VM on XenServer with an Agent was possible in 11.7 too, what is the new feature an benefit in ABR 12.5 Advanced for XenServer Users?

Hi Kristof,

There is no significant difference between v11.7 and 12.5 in terms of XenServer support - it's still agent-based and the main benefit is special licensing which allows you to install unlimited number of agents inside XenServer VMs using a single Acronis Backup Virtual Host license.

Thank you.
