10 fails to backup - create file - can anyone suggest a fix

Thread needs solution

I hope someone an help with a suggestion. I have Home 10 and am trying to do a simple backup (don't use it much). I set the software and it works overnight - in the morning the software says 47,000 days left to finish. The progress band is all green - says it is done - and there is no file created. It is on a simple system - Dell Vostro running XP home, 4 gig RAM, 250g HD, dual core. Does not matter if I try to a network drive, a local USB or to the C drive. Updated to the most recent version - no help.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello Richard Filiberto,

Thank you very much for your post. I am sorry for not replying earlier but I will definitely assist you.

Please make sure that you are using the latest build of our software. The latest build of Acronis True Image 2010 Home is 6053.

Are you aware of any encryption software installed on your computer?

As a workaround and to localize the problem, to see if it is limited to Windows only or not, can you please use an Acronis bootable media CD and create a backup from it. Do you get any errors and does it show the same number of days?

After that, please go through this troubleshooting guide for slow backups in Acronis True Image.

The file backup is in no way related to a full system backup.

I will also send you a PM with a unique link so that you can update your SnapApi drivers.

If none of the steps resolve the issue, please submit a support request with

1. AcronisInfo.

2. SnapApi logs - I will send you a PM with instructions because it requires a unique link for several files.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.
