2010 ATI Home Crashes Under Windows 7 Professional

Thread needs solution

ATI Home 2010 will not install properly and crashes my system requiring roll back to restore point before installation of the product. Rolling back to restore point is performed using build in Windows 7 functionality.

General Specs:
- Windows 7 Professional (32 bit) upgraded from Windows Vista Business
- Dual core Athlon system running Windows 7 Professional with 4GB RAM.
- The system is using an older motherboard (Asus' A8N32SLI- Deluxe motherboard) and has a c:\ drive configured in a RAID mirror (using the RAID feature available on the ASUS board).

ATI Tech support requested that I fully remove ATI 2010, and remove most references to the product, in the registry (using regedit). I was able to remove many entries but the Acronis scheduler under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (under Software, Aronis, Scheduler) cannot be removed.

Suggestions/assistance appreciated.

One additional comment:

I have removed and attempted to re-install the product twice, after the regedit references were removed, and have had no luck. Each time I have to roll back to an earlier Windows restore point to be able to boot the system.

What build of TI 2010 are you using?

Do you have UAC enabled?

I didn't have any problems installing 5,055 in Windows 7 Pro 32-bit, though it was a clean install and not an upgrade from Vista. I haven't tried installing 6,029 yet.
