2010 Netbook Edition fails with DNS 323

Thread needs solution

Failures occur when booting from recovery disk in order to do standalone backup of the entire drive to DNS 323 NAS.

1. many times the file name, even the auto generated one, will generate an error.

2. when the file name succeeds the program fails "unable to write to file".

Trials included use of existing (empty) files created by previous attempts and auto-generated file names with all other settings as default.

Version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition is most current as of the date of this posting.

Note that older versions of Acronis worked fine in exactly the same situation.

Editing batch files, recommended as workarounds for other similar bug reports, will not work when booting from recovery disk.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Even OneClick backup fails with this 2010 Netbook edition! ...no location is requested or given - the program fails, offering a "See log" button - selecting "See log" simply closes the program without displaying anything.

Hello Philip,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

Please create another Acronis Bootable Rescue Media based on ISOLINUX and see if the issue remains. Please specify the NAS drive using a full UNC path in the "File name" box, e.g. \\server\share or the IP address (\\IP address\share).

We have implemented the possibility to download the appropriate ISO file after logging in to your account (the serial number should be registered). Please log in to your account, go to the Registered products section -> Bootable media. Download the file.

You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD here and here.

About the One-click backup option.

Are you able to create a backup of the system partition using a classic backup (Backup -> Disk and partition backup, etc.)? Do you have enough space for this operation? How many hard drives do have?

Thank you.
