ABR 11 (17438) managed machine services stops unexpectedly

Managed machine service on fresh install stops frequently and unexpectedly. Event viewer reveals part of the reason in EventID 1000 in the application log:

Faulting application mms.exe, version 11.0.0.17438, time stamp 0x4fbb7633, faulting module mms.exe, version 11.0.0.17438, time stamp 0x4fbb7633, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x003f86f0, process id 0x1b68, application start time 0x01cda1490e44ef4b.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

For 17438 there are no known issues with that may lead to regular service crash. The only solution is to update to 17440 , then if crashes continue, obtain crash dump using prodcump ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900.aspx ) - run it as
Procdump –ma –e –w mms.exe
and contact support. Upgrade to 17440 is necessary because they will ask you to do so anyway.
