ABR 11 and Ubutnu Agent Installation

Thread needs solution

Hello there,

I just installed ABR 11 went through the initial configuration. I am able to install the agent by downloading linux agent but I don't see the options either in agent or in ABR mgmt console to add my Ubuntu machine. When I try adding from the ABR console, I get a generic login failure (see below). I have already looked at other threads that talk about this message and per one of them, it was supposed to have fixed in the latest release. I would really appreciate it someone could let me know if it's possible to manage Ubuntu servers via AMS.

Thanks

Strickly speaking, you use console in either case as you can't add machine to AMS without it. If console is connected to agent, you can use options->machine options->machine management to switch it to centralized. And, just in case, are you using agent from 'advanced' version, not 'server for linux' ?

Thanks for the reply. We don't install desktop on our linux servers. I do see that console was installed in /usr/sbin/. tried executing it but got this error:

usr/lib/Acronis/BackupAndRecovery/ManagementConsole: error while loading shared libraries: libXft.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Are there any CLI or config options to change from standalone to managed?

You can try to sync with text file on AMS http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11/index.html#6758.html
or connect remotely to agent from other machine and change management type in machine options.
