ABR 11: Items "stuck" in Current Activites list in Managment Console.

Thread needs solution

I've been having an issue with backing up my linux boxes. I know that the backups and validates on those boxes are no longer running, but the Current Activites window still shows them as running. I've tried using the Stop function and even rebooted the central management server, but these entries remain in the current activites list.

Any ideas on how to get rid of orphaned/zombie backup processes?

Sad that there's no response. I'm having the same issue. I have backup jobs that show as running as well as other activities that show as running under current activities. Connecting to the client station doesn't show any activity. I have activity on stations that have been rebooted after the displayed start date.

I run a Win2k8 environment, I don't know if the same steps will work in a Linux environment. Usually what I've found to work (sometimes) is to follow the instructions in that article, and while the service is down/after you bring it back up, rebooting the machines that were stuck. That keeps the client process from trying to reconnect to finish their backup. Sometimes this doesn't work either, then I have to remove the machine from the management console and re-add it. I also usually have to kill the service_process.exe tasks on the server manually after I manage to get the managmentserver task to die.

It is a HUGE pain and Acronis needs to fix this, or at least be consistent in giving good errors to troubleshoot either on the client or on the server. Sometimes I can't even see my backup tasks for crying out loud.

Good luck, I'm not having any with this product.

My apologies to the original poster and anyone else who comes across this. I overlooked that he was having the issue on Linux. I have AMS on Windows Server 2003. A much more appropriate thread for Windows is at http://forum.acronis.com/forum/24477
However, this is obviously not a platform specific issue.
