ABR Advanced Workstation - No deduplication and Bootable Media to do Recovery on Trial?
Hi there!
We managed to get Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Advanced Workstation running and we are now trying to perform a recovery in a few machines to make sure the system works end-to-end...
I tried to install the deduplication add-on in both the clients and the machine running AMS... in both cases the installer is not able to grab a license in the license server although the trial licenses "says" it includes deduplication in the description.
The same problem is happening when I try to install the bootable media components... it asks me for a license key / license server, and regardless the method I use I get an error: "There are no available licenses in the specified license server."
I checked this already and it says that bootable media is limited to restore only (Exactly what I want) and that only Universal Restore is not included, what confirms the description in my license file that deduplication is included.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Entering the key directly in a clean machine I was able to install the bootable media components, but this machine is not supposed to have any agents as it's not covered by AMS (It's my desktop machine)
I don't understand why it does not work if I install it on the same machine where AMS is running, since I'm trying to create this media from within the console...
Any ideas?
Thanks
Daniel

It doesn't need to - bootable components will allow you to create the bootable media (a trial one, but it's enough to test restore), Then, agents are not strictly tied to AMS - in ABR11 you can install Agent entering the key directly and it will work with it, however without centralized management features but with access to storage nodes.

Man, this is one of the most buggy comercial software I've ever seen... The concept behind it and the way it should work is very cool, but looks like every core functionality on this has bugs... scheduler, license manager, vaults, backup plans, reports... ouch...
