AB&R stalls on 'Items to Recover' on new computer build

Thread needs solution

I had a MB failure on the machine (Win7x32) I was using as my image server so I set up a new machine with the same OS and reinstalled AB&R 10 (build 10.0.12703). I installed the old HD in the new machine as a slave and attempted to use one of my previous images for a recovery. I can select the archive however the program sits and spins on the Items to recover portion (I've let it run over 12 hours to no avail.) Can anyone offer any suggestions on what might be happening here?

Hello Crista,

Thank you for your post. I will definitely help you with this issue.

I apologize for the inconvenience but we'll need to do some additional steps in order to either resolve or localize the problem. It's possible it is caused by either the backup location where the .tib file is located or the bootable media. If I am not mistaken, you are using the bootable media to recover the backup.

Could you move your backup to a new backup location as well as try an older version of the bootable media. I will send you a download link for it in a few minutes via a private message.

In case you need immediate help you can always contact our Support team directly.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Using the older, bootable media - I am still at the same point.

Hello Crista!

Thank you for keeping us posted!

It still looks like the product cannot access either the metafolder or the target location properly. Could you please gather the following information:

  1. the target location of the archive
  2. whether you have tried to move the location of the backup
  3. whether you have tested the updated bootable media, burnt to the CD
  4. Acronis Linux Report

after that please submit a support request and let us know it's number.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
