ABR10 backup to disk to tape

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I want to change from BackupExec to ABR10 and looking for a function. In BackupExec there is the function "backup to disk to tape". This means, after the backup to disk a linked job backups all image files to a tape, but I can`t find this in ABR10.
Now my question, how can I duplicate my backup to disk backups to my tape library?
Thank you in advance for any tips!

Hello Michael,

Welcome to our forum and thank you for your interesting question. I will certainly help you with it.

At the moment there is no such feature in Acronis Backup and Recovery 10. I will forward your request to our Customer Listening System so that this feature can be implemented in a future version of our software.

In the meantime I would recommend this KB article that shows how tapes work in ABR 10 in a little bit more detail.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Beat the beta!

Dear Acronis® Customer/Partner,

We are pleased to announce the beta release of Acronis® Backup & Recovery™ 11. This product is the next version of Acronis® Backup & Recovery™ 10, a leading backup and disaster recovery product.

What’s new in Acronis® Backup & Recovery™ 11

- Improved Usability. The new product gives users a simpler "view" into system functions.
- Improved search capabilities. Backups (both files and images) are indexed, and you can browse or search by file name, size and date. It works across tapes too.
- Universal Restore for Linux. Recover images of Linux machines to dissimilar hardware
- Multiple-destination backups. Acronis has the redundancy solution that configures backup plans to copy all or selected backups to other locations, whether onsite or offsite.
- Robust offsite disk-to-tape backup. The best of both worlds: an onsite disk-based copy for fast local recoveries and copies to tape for offsite storage. You can also stage old backups to tape (D2D2T) to for longer-term storage.
