Hi!

I have a G-F-S backup plan which performs a backup of the complete system every day.
I have a question about the huge file size of the daily incremental backup:

  • The monthly full backup is about 90 GB
  • The weekly differential backup is about 6-15 GB
  • The daily incremental backup is about 1-3 GB.

I´m just one person who backs up his own data and I do not change so much files that the difference between two days are 1-3 GB. I know, there are several updates (Windows, browsers, applications) but I can hardly believe that these updates weight 1-3 GB.

OS:Win 7 Professional.

Do you have any thoughts what the root cause could be? Could it be pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys? Another thread in this forum sais that these files has no influence on backup size. Although that thread is related to ATIH I believe that ABR and ATIH work similar so that should be valid to ABR aswell. Any other ideas about the root cause?
