ABR10 Workstation on Win7 Pro: Sidebyside errors in event viewer

Thread needs solution

Hello.
I'm using ABR10 on a Win7 Pro pc. The software works fine and the daily backups (incremental and complete) are done regularly. But in event viewer (error section) there are five errors everyday related to ABR10. The text is as follows (I translated something from italian, sorry if it sounds incorrect):

Registry name: Application
Origin: SideBySide
Date: 04/02/2010 08:31:58
ID event: 33
Activity Category: None
Level: Error
Key word: Classic

Description: Unable to generate activation context for "C:\Program Files\Acronis\BootableComponents\WinPE\Files\TrueImageCmd.exe". Impossible to find the depending assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762". Use sxstrace.exe to obtain a specific diagnose.

Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762"

C:\Program Files\Acronis\BootableComponents\WinPE\Files\TrueImageCmd.exe

There are five entries with five different .exe files all in the same destination "C:\Program Files\Acronis\BootableComponents\WinPE\Files\": "trueimagecmd.exe" "mms.exe" "trueimage.exe" "backupandrecoveryservice.exe" "systeminfo.exe".

I haev read somewhere on this forum that WinPE is not working on Win7 yet (only on Home version). Is this the origin of the problem? Should I feel secure about the correct execution of my backups?
Thanks in advance
Antonio

Bump to this. I am having the exact same issue on Server 2008 R2, anyone have any solution yet?

Thanks
Paul

They look like executable files that are to be put on PE bootable media, and so are not required for operations under windows. I don't know why does Windows try to access them at all. If I ran it in virtual machine, I'd just renamed it to something *.bin if I don't plan to make winPE bootable media, but I would give such advice regarding live system.

I had the same problem, solved it by searching for "where to find microsoft visual c++ Redistributable" and downloading and installing the (x86) version, because I also had x64 errors I then searched for the same with x64 added and downloaded and installed it too.

Which version of the C++ Redist did you use? There is an '03 and an '08 version. Installed the '08 version, both 32 and 64 bit with no change.

Hello All,

This issue is currently under investigation by our Development Team. It is caused by PE plugin of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 using different manifests than Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 itself.

For now there is a workaround: ZIP and delete the PE plugin folder:
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\BootableComponents (or C:\Program Files\Acronis\BootableComponents), right-click on WinPE folder and choose Send to -> Compressed folder.
- Delete the original WinPE folder. This will not affect the software's functionality in terms of backup and recovery. Errors in the Event Log should not appear anymore.

Thank you for understanding and patience.
