ABR11 status updates on Management Console Lock up.

Thread needs solution

ABR11 build 17217
Virtual Server running Windows 2008 Server SP2
When I attempt to view any "status" in my management console, it appears to be thinking, but the status never shows up.
By status I mean Backup Plans and Tasks does not refresh, Backup Plans and general status on the dashboard never get beyond "loading" with the swirly thingys going round and round.
I cannot view Alerts, the Log, or current activities.
I can see all machines, I can view the data catalog, I can see the storage nodes and vault, I can see Licenses and status.
Backups and recovery jobs are running.
CPU usage is sitting around 20 to 30% which is pretty typical from what I have seen on ABR11.
I have sporadically been able to see this information, but now, even after a couple of reboots it is not showing up.
I also cannot stop and restart the Management Server Service, it hangs up.

I'm beginning to wonder it there are a couple billion erroneous log entries slowing everything down. The very first night it generated over 5000 log entries and that was with only 3 systems added to the server. There could be orders of magnitudes more now.
Is there any way to clear the log other than through the Management Console?

Paul,

In no particular order;

Are you able to stop the service using Windows command prompt rather than directly in services?

I'm not near my Acronis machine at the moment, but I think the log file is lurking in the hidden Windows Program folder or in the roaming folder.

Do you also have the log being duplicated in Windows Event Manager?
