ABR11 WS and Lasersoft Silverfast 8: Agent.exe causes conflicts!
I just bought Lasersoft Silverfast 8 - a scan program with Photoshop plugin - and had a lot of trouble with it because i couldn't scan directly into Photoshop CS4 x64. Photoshop just hung every time after scan and i had to kill the task via taskmanager (Win7 XP1 x64).
So i wrote Lasersoft an email and asked for help but they couldn't help me. So i decided to shut down every process in my computer and retry after every shutdown if the problem still exists.
So then i came to the process "agent.exe" (Acronis Remote Agent Service). After shutting down this service suddenly Silverfast could scan directly into Photoshop.
So i think there is a conflict deep between this two programs.
Now because i have the standalone version of ABR11 WS i think there is no fundamental need for this Remote Agent Service. I just made an image of my drive C and had no problems at all. The task ran without errors.
If i should be wrong: Can it causes problems shutting down this service on a standalone installation of ABR11 WS?
