Access to the file is denied Error Code 40014 - Acronis Backup & Recovery 10

Thread needs solution

To start, I uninstalled Acronis and reinstalled to our G:\ drive instead of the C:\ as the C was filling up. Not sure it's related now but when running a full backup, the G:\ drive will not backup and all files within it report the Access is Denied with error code 40014. Should there be any problems with this configuration? All security permissions on all drives are set to the same but the C and F drives don't fail. The error is below, any thoughts?

Hello Derrick,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will definitely assist you with this issue.

There is no problem with the configuration, most likely the backup fails as the error messages says - the file is in use.

Any chance that virtual machine was running during backup creation?

Can you also refer to the solution from this KB article and choose the option to "Always create a snapshot" in your backup plan.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
