Access to port 9876?

Thread needs solution

I'm considering a purchase and install of A B&R 10 Workstation (not Advanced) and will do no remote work with this system, AFAIK.

I'm using ZoneAlarm 5.5.094.

In order to install and use A B&R 10 properly, will I still need to set my ZoneAlarm to allow connection to port 9876?

Doesn't this provide an unnecessary system vulnerability?

Hello Barry,

Thank you for posting the interesting question, I will be happy to help.

If you use a standalone version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10, or if you use the Manege this machine option in an Advanced version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 to execute the local connection, you don't need to allow connection to port 9876. Acronis software uses port 9876 for a remote connection only.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.
