Acronics-B&R11-workstation Q:volume-copy

Thread needs solution

Just bought this software just to copy my WIN7-enterprise bit32
from a 80GB-diks to a 500GB disk easely without having to reinstall all my programs' etc tec.
Should be easy but can't figure out what I all have to intall re-install , WINPE files download etc.

Thought the program would be easy of use.

Just want a straid copy to a new disk.

Downloaded just the file
KB3AIK_NL.iso and waik_supplement_nl-nl.iso
Also have the original WIN7 install disks by hand.

Thanks for the help

1) Why WINPE if linux -based media that you can download from your account can do it. Well, if it can't....
2) If the new drive is Advanced Format read this first http://forum.acronis.com/node/25558#comment-79652 (i.e. install corresponding windows patch)

Clone - connect the second disk, boot from acronis bootable cd, go to 'disk management', right-click on 80gb disk adr select clone.
Backup and recover -

a)- Connect new drive to the existing system, create on it first as many partitions as existing drive has, then 80 gb partition using windows 7 disk management, format them to NTFS, give them some meaningful volume labels
b)- boot from Acronis bootable cd, backup the old system to the 80gb partition (you can search it by its label given in b)
c) recover this backup to partitions of the new disk.
d) disconnect 80gb disk, boot from the new hdd, delete the last 80gb partition and extent the partition before it to occupy its place.

"boot from acronis bootable cd" - That is the org install disk Acronis or have to make some new win7 startup disk?
"Why WINPE if linux -based media..." - I can use the standard taged option Linux for this win7 pc reinstall?

2nd -I want to extent the 80GB win7 disk that the idea, on the new 500Gb disk, is the partition Win7 again 80Gb? or just for
re-install temp 80GB and can I later on remove the 80GB partition on the 500GB?

Have a normal pc-tower with 1 80GB C-drive(IDE) and 1 data drive 500GB.
Bought a 1TB(SATA) disk and copied the data from 500GB(SATA) to the 1TB.

So have now
1 80Gb C-drive WIN7 (becoms now full (6Gb free)
1 500GB E-drive (with old data)
1 1TB drive with the Data of the old 500GBdrive

made a full simpel backup C-drive 80GB to the 1TB

Thanks for the help

I never dealt with Acronis sw on physical media but if you can boot your computer from this CD and get to some kind of reduced-functionality B&R application, then it is - a customized live linux that runs a linux-based B&R. If it doesn't boot, you have to go to your acronis account register your SN there, and download .iso file and (as it's a windows 7) doubleclick on it and it will offer to burn it on CD. Only if this doesn't work due to HW compatibility problems, it's worth trying WinPE-based one.

Using B&R installed in windows? Then double-check that you have you data copied to 1TB disk and restore the backup from 1TB disk to 500 GB disk.
Before this, delete existing partition from 500 gb disk to make it unallocated. Select the backup you created, select 'recover as' dropdown to volumes, check MBR and all volumes checkboxes , then assign each partition from archive to recover on unallocated space of 500gb disk, changing its 'properties' from 'original size' which they will have by default to the desired size.
