Acronis 10.0.12708 does not detect the Intel Lewisville NIC - Intel® 82579LM
Hi,
I just tried out the lastest build of acronis backup and recovery 10.0.12708 , the media
builder created the bootable media correctly but it does not appear to have the NIC
driver that I need for my laptop on it.
NIC type: Intel® 82579LM Gigabit network Connection
Can the software guys have a look at getting this onto the bootable rescue media?
Laptop Model: Dell E6420
Thanks

Hi
So when can we expect an update for this case?
I'm sure we are many out there that wait for it.
And I now that Dell Latitude E6320, E6420 and E6520 have the same NIC and probably many others too.
It's kind of urgent for my company that we get it up and running for this NIC.

Hello,
The same problem for me too.

Just bought Acronis to make an image on the network...
Software is useless this way.
Please add network drivers ASAP

My support also had run out, but I saw that there was a free two-minute support chat, and I did chat with an agent.
The agent was not interested in the diagnostic information which I had collected per Anton's above request.
I was directed to follow several pages of instructions to create WinPE with Acronis plugin, starting here:
http://kb.acronis.com/content/13641
This is a large amount of assembly required to use what is a mainstream Intel NIC. It involves downloading an installation kit, burning an iso, installing .NET, installing an XML parser, installing AIK, unpacking WinPE to a folder, some command line work, burning another iso...
...all I want to do is recover one ThinkPad backup over the network :-(.

I had/have a case with Acronis support and send a linux-report and the only help I got for now was to use PE.
So I made a BartPE-build with NIC-drivers for Intel 82579LM and made a ISO-file of it with Acronis PE-builder and burned it to a CD to boot up E6320 as a workaround untill a new update is made.
I also included two batchfiles, one for create image and one for deploy image.
Link to BartPE: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
The other answer I got was that it takes a long time to make an update...
I understand that it takes some time to make an update with many new HW, but I don't understand that it can take about 2-3 month to come with an update for this case.

There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of machines with this NIC. I too don't understand what the holdup is...
... but if it takes Acronis months to add support for the driver, why can't I in the meantime just stick a thumbdrive with the drivers on into a USB port, boot Acronis, load the drivers, and carry on? This is a much easier solution than the convoluted WinPE route.

So how is it going with an update for Intel 82579LM NIC?
All of Dell's old models are now EOL and we can't order any other than the new models that more or less all have this NIC.
We will have the same problem with Dell Optiplex 790 as well.
And don't tell me to send You a report because I have done that :)
Please Acronis! Come with an update ASAP!

I cannot see any update about 82579LM NIC for Dell Lattitude E6320. All our new laptops will require this NIC, I do not want build laptops from scratch, can you guys please pull your finger out and get a solution for this.
Thank You

Hi,
We purchased a Dell Optiplex 790, work stations, but the internal network card model: Intel (R) 82579LM is not recognized either by Acronis is in version 8.5 Enterprise Server and Acronis Backup and Recovery 10.
How can we fix it?
In addition, the backup made with Acronis Enterprise Server 8.5 fails to restore with Acronis Backup and Recovery 10. Also, inside the backup there is a Secure Zone.
Can you help us to solve both problems?
Thanks

Hi Gang, I had the same problem with Backup & Recovery v10. My support was current and I upgraded my license to v11, build 17217 and my Dell Latitude E6520 with Intel 82579LM NIC now works just fine when I boot with the v11 bootable media. Happy cloning!

Hi Anton.
Is there a fix for this issue? You keep saying to contact support, but for those of us that our support registration is expired on it does not help.
Please advise.

Thanks Acronis Support,
I downloaded 'Acronis True Image Home 2011 latest build 6868' and my problem is solved.
I can now boot in Acronis mode and transfer files to ftp, because the Intel netcard drivers are there.
Best regards,
Bas
