Acronis 2010 Partition Removal

Thread needs solution

I'm new to this program and intended to backup to my external hard drive. On installation I inadvertantly backed up to my hard disk leaving only 5 per cent of my disk space available, insufficient to even run disk defrag. In an attempt to recover space I recovered the files and deleted the Acronis program however the new partition remains, taking up space. Is there any way that I can safely remove the new partition wihout the need to format my hard drive?

The user guide is pathetic and I will never use this program again.

Hello Graham,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

To remove the undesired partition please do the following:

- Fix/restore the Windows Boot Loader (see Restoring Windows Boot Loader Manually) if Acronis Startup Recovery Manager is activated;

- Delete the Acronis Secure Zone partition (by means of Windows Disk Management, for example).

To get the access to the internal Disk Management utility window please go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management. Make right-click on Acronis Secure Zone and select Delete.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawless for you. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.
