Acronis Backup 11 crashes my SBS 2003 Server

Thread needs solution

I have tried calling, chatting, emailing, with no response at this time. I purchased this program to use on our Dell SC1440 which uses a SATA raid configuration and SBS2003 SP2. The install went perfectly. However when it is time for a scheduled backup it will freeze server. No icons, just a background on the screen. I disabled the software and went back to NT backup which has worked for years on this unit and I have no problems. Initially I installed the program on the Data drive of the computer rather than the root directory of C:, since it is getting full and I can't add anything without running out of space. There are no logs to read. It just shows in events things that quit working about the time of the crash. Acronis console just shows the backup failed. So I guess my question would be if the program tries to build something on C that might eat my free space up and freeze the unit?. I am afraid to uninstall this since it appears to have crashed other servers while uninstalling. With the slow response to my email, nobody to talk to and no answers to my problem, I am becoming very disenchanted with the software. Wish I had read this forum before I bought it. Can I get an older version that works?

Regarding your question: yes, during the backup with the help of Acronis software, the product creates a snapshot, which is placed to the temp folder on the C:\ drive by default. Please find more details here, as well as instructions on how to reduce its size or move it to another location.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
