Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Server will not detect external hard drive

Hi,

Every time I boot into Acronis on an HP ProBook 450 laptop it fails to recognize any external hard disk.

If I boot from the external itself, which uses Yumi, it gives me an "oot error", and depending on the usb port if I hit 'esc' it will either boot into windows recovery or continue on booting into Acronis. However, regardless of whether I boot from a cd with Acronis or from my external, it simply will not detect my external hard drive.

Any ideas as to how to fix this problem?

Do I understand correctly that you are using Linux-based media of Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 and it doesn't recognize your external hard driver?

If so, the issue might be caused by lack of needed driver in Linux-media. In this case it is recommended to use a WinPE based media.

You can also check if the issue persists with trial version of Acronis Backup 11.5 and if it doesn't, upgrade to the latest version.
