Acronis Backup & Recovery Errors/Problems

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am running a SBS 2003 with Acronis Backup & Recovery. I've been having scheduling related issues for the past year i.e. application errors (I originally fixed the issues via the Acronis support desk only to find the problem came back). The backup would normally fail every 5-6 days because of this issue. My one year support subscription ran out and by that stage, after contacting Acronis support on a number of times I gave up. I have been rebooting the server every week to refresh the scheduler.

In the interim, I have downloaded and installed the latest version of ABR only to have a number of other issues. I used the Acronis removal tool to remove the software after I found the over-the-top upgrade did not work. I have reinstalled the software twice now and have been presented with the same error/s after a GFS backup plan is created and run.

Please advise.

Hello David,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here. I'm sorry for the experience you've faced, and will be glad to assist you.

Please note that in case your support agreement has expired, but the issue still remains, you're eligible for getting support further on, till you get the problem solved.

The error you specified points onto the problem with accessing the target location and meta data folder, which stores the information about all the backups. The only thing I can think about given the lack of sufficient diagnostic information is that you specify the path to the mapped drive instead of using a UNC path. When you map a drive, it becomes mapped only under your Windows account. The Acronis product runs its tasks using the system account and so it is sometimes impossible to locate your mapped drive (especially when you are logged off). Thus we advise to use the UNC path (it should look like \\[ip-address]\[folder name]) . Please find more details here.

If it's not the case, please gather Acronis Info, submit a case with the information attached, and let us know its number.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
