Acronis B&R 11639 unable to restore from SATA drive to SSD with AHCI.

Thread needs solution

Recently acquired GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard with Intel LGA 1366 processor and OCZ SSD drive as boot drive.
I backup to SSD to the D drive, a WD Sata, for imaging.

Attempt to restore from the D, WD Sata, using Linux Boot CD results in tib file forever "loading" after it is selected. And I do mean forever (at least 20 minutes before I give up) I've tried different hard drives and different tib files all with the same results.

Interestingly, I can load the same TIB from a network drive (TCP/IP), but obviously very slowly

Suggestions appreciated.

Hello Jerry,

Thank you for posting. I will do my best to assist you.

Can you please provide a little bit more information regarding this issue.

The image is located on an internal WD Sata SSD drive, if I am correct. When you write, that you have tried different hard drives, could you elaborate on this please? What type of drives were those? Is the recovery CD that you are using the very latest one? We updated them on the 21st of May.

If you can get back to me with this clarification because I think this issue requires investigation.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.

Hello again Jerry,

Would it be possible to send me an Acronis Linux report generated from the recovery CD, so that we can take a look at the logs.

Please generate the report after selecting the image and it stays in loading status for a while. You can try pressing the escape key and if that fails, press the following key combination: CTRL ALT F2. This will take you to the # prompt. You can use the same article for instructions for collecting the Linux Report from the # prompt.

I would really appreciate if you can send me the report, we will be able to let you know what is wrong and provide you with a solution.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
