Acronis B&R Advanced Server SBS Edition Installation & license issue

2 issues.

Issue 1:
Unable to install Acronis Backup for SBS server (SBS 2008 64bit)
Error Code: 06442537

Issue 2:
cannot add license for "acronis recovery for MS Exchange for SBS"
error as per attached screenshot.
note that i've double check each character on the license certificate for more than 10 times, unbelievable.

Thank you for the information provided, it was very helpful. According to the log you've specified, the issue's caused by your Windows operating system which is unable to install the redistributable components of C Runtime. For example, installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (or similar) will fail in the same way. In order to solve it, please do the following: 

To fix the issue, please run Windows System File Checker:

(!) You will need to have Windows Installation Disc to run the utility:

  1. Hit Start-Run and type in cmd
  2. In the command line, issue the following command:

    sfc.exe /scannow

    This will check the system for corruption and repair the corrupted system files from the Windows Installation Disk.

If the issue persists, please contact Microsoft Support since this is a Windows issue and may result in difficulties with installation of other applications as well.

There can be several caused of the issue with the License Server. In order to localize it please gather

  1. Acronis Info from the problem machine
  2. Licenses list

and submit a support request with the information attached. Please let us know the case number, we would like to make sure it's handled in a proper way.

the following are results shown after running sfc:

1A: i tried download acronisinfo.exe from mentioned kb, but the error "acronisinfor.exe could not be saved, because the source file could not be read"
1B: then i tried download and install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package". but it did not fail as what you predicted. you may find my installation result screenshot as attached. Please solve this!

Issue 2: do you have any idea yet why i failed to add the license serial for exchange, as i described & screenshoted in the first port above?

Thank you very much for your follow-up.

The license for Acronis Recovery for MS Exchange could not be added to Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 License Server because the two programs are incompatible in this respect, the license usage cannot be tracked using ABR 10 License Server. You can only launch Acronis Recovery for Exchange from the ABR 10 Management Console shortcut. Just in case, to avoid any potential issues, you will need to install the two products in a certain order. Please refer to this KB article for instructions.

As for the main installation issue, we will still need to investigate and troubleshoot it. If AcronisInfo report is not working, please collect the following reports when contacting our Support team:

1. Windows System Information file.

2. Msi log.

3. Windows event logs.

i've downloaded the installed from web, then install using the cached .msi
tried many times, with each time failed to install one component, after reboot server, continue again but another component failed to installed, reboot, continue....
ican't remember how many times i reboot server & re-initiate the installation to get all the component installed.

now creating backup plan, hope no more issue.
the deployment experience is really bad, compared to Symantec BE, where most of the time i will face zero issue.
