Acronis Management Console and the Catalog files

Thread needs solution

Dear specialists,
Could I ask you about the "Catalog files"?

H/W: HP DL360
OS: Windows Server 2003 SP2 Sta.
Int. Disk: C:, E:
CD drive: D:
Version: Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 Advanced Server

Symptoms:
1. I backuped disk image (C:, E:, MBR) to USB HDD (F:) by Acronis 11.
2. I backuped disk image (C:, E:, MBR) to network share folder by Acronis 11.
3. I move the archived file (.TIB and .xml) on USB HDD to network share folder by Windows Explorer.
4. I openned the both archive files by "Recover data" windows on Acronis Management Console. But don't perform the recovery.
5. After No.4, it seems like to about 2.5GB files at “C:Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis”.
6. I delete the the both archive files by Acronis Management Console.
7. After No.6, “C:Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis” was reduced to 578MB.

Question:
1. When I use "recovery" for checking the archive files, does Acronis make the catalog files?
2. When I use "Vault" for checking the archive files, doesn't Acronis make the catalog files?
3. How much size catalog files are made by Acronis 11 from a archive file of 10GB?
