Acronis Startup and Recovery Manager

Thread needs solution

Here's my goal. I want to reboot a remote workstation using Intel Manageablity Commander Tool, press F4 (not F11) to access ASRM, connect to the client using the ABR Management Console and restore an image. This would allow me to have complete control from end to finish when restoring images, if a workstation cannot boot to windows.

I have managed to change the F4 prompt by modifying the f11.cfg located on the workstation - C:\Program Files\Acronis\BootableComponents\WinPE\Files, saving the file as f4.cfg, then reactivate ASRM. Now I find out I can't use the f4 command with the Intel Commander tool either. Radmin also doesn't work.

Here's my modified f4.cfg
-----------------------------
[start]
echo Starting Acronis Backup & Recovery 10...
initrd ramdisk.dat /s
kernel kernel.dat quiet
quiet on
mbrcrcs on
vga vesa

[continue]
sysboot /active

[bootmgr]
echo Press F4 for Acronis Startup Recovery Manager...
default continue
delay 30
bootmenu 318
-----------------------------

Since I can't press any function keys I would like the workstation to boot to the ASRM for 2 seconds then continue to boot Windows if no keys are pressed. Is this possible?

I've found a better method that I thought I would share in case anyone is interested. To use this method you must have Intel AMT Motherboard.
My goal was to restore an image to a workstation that doesn't boot to windows due to a virus or broken hard drive, with no user interaction. I'm not using ASRM.
1. Enable AMT - http://www.radmin.com/support/guides/intel_amt_setting_up_for_vpro_read…
2. Using the Manageability Command Tool, connect to the computer, click Take Control, Click Disk Redirect, Change Target CDROM, Redirect to image file.
3. Choose an Acronis Rescue Disk ISO file, then click Disk Redirect, Redirect Active.
4. Click Remote Command, Remote Reboot to Redirect CD.

The workstation will reboot using the Acronis Rescue Disk iso file. You can then connect to the workstation from the ABR Management Console using the same ip address, and do an image restore.
