Acronis will not install

Thread needs solution

We just got our disks for Acronis Backup and Recover. I am trying to install on windows XP with service pack 2 on it. I am trying to install the disks and when I click on install Acronis Backup and Recovery the software just hangs. It will stay at the first screen with the white box around the words install Acronis Backup and Recovery. The only way out is to right click on it in the system tray and close. I tried to install in Safe mode and got a Code:013 and Code:01111 error. We got 6 copies and all of them installed fine except for this one machine. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thank you for finding time to join us, we're glad to greet you on Forum! I understand your concern, and will do my best to help you.

There can be several reasons for this issue. In order to localize the issue, please do the following: 

  1. Temporary disable all third-party protection software (backup, anti-virus, Firewall)
  2. Go to Start -> Run and issue there the following path:
    %Temp%
    Delete all the files in it
  3. Make sure that all necessary services are running. The following services should be started: COM + System Application, Distributed Transaction Coordinator and Volume Shadow Copy
  4. Restart the installation

Should the issue remain, please gather the following diagnostic data, which will help to localize the issue: 

  1. Acronis Report from the problem machine
  2. Acronis Info
  3. MSI log if possible
  4. Procmon

after that please submit a case with the information attached, and let us know it's number.

I tryed everything and it did not work. I submited a case (01051254) and we will see what happens. Thanks for your help!

Same problem here on Windows 2008 R2 x64 when I try running the exe installer. Also, this seems to have started after the latest download version of the installer. After the error window comes up it loads the Acronis screen but the "x" is missing, and aside from the logo and Acronis name, the only text in the window is at the bottom which reads "TEXT_ENTERPRISE_INSTALLER_SHELL_INSTALLER_VERSION". Almost like the content is being blocked.

I resolved this issue by running the Acronis Cleanup Utility.
