Advice Request before purchasing Backup/Recovery 11 VM Edt.
So I converted a PowerEdge R710 into hyperv server, with 4 VM's running.. term srvr, app srvr, backups/shares/misc and an old 2003 exchange server not used much anymore (will decomission once I get others off some file shares there who use old desktops)... and I wanted to buy a second PowerEdge to back up (mirror) the R710 in case it failed, since our company would be dead in the water with no app server, term server, etc.. while waiting for Dell to come onsite.. but my CFO nix'd it saying to build a tower by hand to save thousands..
Long story short, I built a tower, i7 3.5ghz, 16 gigs RAM, dual 10k rpm SATA 6gps 600gig drives, and copied over the VM's .. but.. I'm not comfortable with installing Service Center Virt. Machine Manager and hoping I can get these copies working with the same IP's, etc.. if I had to.. taking into consideration I'd have to backup the VM's like daily?! which takes all day.. 350 gigs maybe..
So can I network into AD this tower I built.. assign an IP to it.. share it, and somehow buy this Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Virtual Edition and have it mirror from the PowerEdge to this tower?
Any tips or advice would be great.. SAN storage isn't an option.. in case anyone wants to mention it.
Thanks! :)

I'm having a hard time with Acronis to get ABRA11 to work... got 15 dyas of evaluation, already spent 7 trying to make it work to no avail... and NO support so far... problems with authentication and backups that are not created... Chat does not work, forum topics were forgotten...
So, test it anyway you can because you can get in trouble...

You know.. I tried over and over to initiate a chat support session and nothing would work.. weird.. but now you've got me scared :P What's a better solution to mirror a poweredge to a floor desktop server for backup?
