After Backup finishes, network access to backed up server drops momentarily

Thread needs solution

Hello all,

This is my first post in here and I am relatively new to Acronis all together.

My problem is I have 4 servers I back up.  Three of them have no issues.  But 1 that I back up runs our laser program and everytime the server finishes its backup, something happens to where the PCs and controllers taht connect to this server lose connection to it.

I have put a band aid fix to run the back up when I know someone is here so they can restart the programs on the floor, but it is much more efficient to run the backup overnight.  We need to run the lasers overnight as well, but they quit running as soon as they lose the connection to the server.

I dont know what information to give to help diagnose this, but just to let you all know, i did try to run the "collect system information" log and that failed to run.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Kevin,

This seems like a very strange conflct and I would suggest getting in touch with our support team to investigate this. Our product normally works mostly with the OS storage subsystem and I can't see how calls to storage calls would cause the laser programs to lose connection.

Does the disconnect happen on backup start or finish or sometime in between? Does this happen for all backup tasks (even a test file backup)? Or does this happen on a specific volume backup?

If you don't really want to investigate the root cause of the software conflict, you can work around the issue and automate restarting your programs through a post-backup script.

Igor,

Thank you for your response.  I actually figured out what was going on however it is still a little weird.

For some reason it lost its credentials to access the folder it was backing up to.   It was still backing up to that folder though.

I put in the right credentials and havent had any issues since.

I appologize, i should have updated this post but forgot about it.
