Another BartPE, WinPE and WinPE 2.0 Error Message

Thread needs solution

When using a BartPE, WinPE and WinPE 2.0 recovery disc I am receiving a "Cannot create backup plan" error when I click OK on the "Backup Plan" screen.

My laptop configuration is 2 internal SATA HDD's.  I am imaging the main system drive to the 2nd internal SATA HDD. When I image to a network drive I don't get this error.

I am using Backup and Restore 10 Workstation build 11105

I used the suppport chat feature several days ago but after 45 mins they said that they will have to look into it and get back to me. I haven't heard back yet. They also tried to talk me out of using a WinPE based disc (which I didn't like) and after I pled my case for having a multi-use recovery disc they finally started to gather info about my situation.

Hello FBMachines,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

Are you able to perform the same operations under Windows? Could you please also obtain the following information?

1) Please download Acronis Report utility and run it, create a report and attach to your post.

This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

2) - Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information;
- Choose the "Save" option in the "File" menu (or "Action" menu under Windows 2000), enter the "File name" and set the field "Save as type" to "System Information File (*.NFO)";
- Send us the saved file.

Thank you.

Oleg,

I ran the report utility and attached the logs.  You will notice I have 3 reports.  The 1st time I ran the utility I noticed towards the end of the report on drive C:\...

Disk 1  Partition 2
  FS:                NTFS
  File system error: 37 (Index corrupted)

So I ran CHKDSK /F on all 3 partitions (2 drives. Drive 1 - "PQService" a hidden system restore partition & "OS" the system partition ("C"). Drive 2 - "Backup" where I save the image files).  It found no errors so I ran the report again.  It still showed the "Index Corrupted". So, I ran CHKDSK /F /R. It again found no errors but the report utility still shows "Index Corrupted".

I verified that the WinPE plugin has the same SnapAPI version as the Windows version.

I do not have this problem running BNR 10 WS within Windows only BartPE, WinPE and WinPE 2.

I also PM'd you my System Info report.

EDIT: Maybe I'm just missing it but I couldn't find a way to attach the file via a PM. So, I submitted it via the support web form. Let me know if you don't receive it.

Hello FBMachines,

One of your partitions still contains file system errors. Please try to get rid of them using a third-party utility.

About the initial issue. I will escalate the case, we will try to reproduce it.

Thank you.
