Are there any Acronis products that can restore a partition over a wireless network?

Thread needs solution

I know I could backup a partition over wifi and a network, but in the event I needed to restore the backup, and everything was erased, could true image restore over a wireless wifi connection by reading a backup from a remote computer on the network?
For example, could I boot from an Acronis CD, then have it connect on only a Linksys wifi card to a wireless router. Ask for the password etc and after the connection is made, allow me to browse the network and get the backup? Or would I need to plug in a LAN cable? Remember, there would be no windows or OS on the computer. The only thing I'd be relying on is a boot CD.

It's not a big deal to plug in a cable, but I was just wondering if any new Acronis software could do that sort of thing. I was hoping someone who works at Acronis, or some one up on Acronis would know if it exists, or they plan on making anything like that which would include special drivers to make that possible etc.. thanks

Hello John!

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us!

I regret to inform you that currently our bootable media doesn't support wireless network. Currently we are working on improving the situation, but still there are no timeframes when this feature will be available.

I would like to mention also that your opinion is very important for us. So I will forward your comment to the Management team right now so that they could be aware that this option is required and awaited.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Thanks Yana,

Thanks for the welcome :-). It's too bad that doesn't work yet, but I kind of expected that since it would require extra drivers. Or perhaps some tricks to communicate with the card. But it would be great if it could somehow work on say the most popular wifi cards from linksys and netgear etc. That way someone could just enter their info, connect and restore. But again, I understand, and hooking up a lan cable is no big deal and still think it looks like a good recovery program. Also thanks for forwarding the suggestion for me. Hopefully some day it will be able to have that feature. Take care

Dear John!

Thank you for your reply and kind understanding, I really appreciate it.

I completely agree with you, and I'm positive that we will finally have this feature implemented. All we need is time.

You are more than welcome, and I must say your comments and opinion is very important for us. You're suggesting very reasonable and useful feature, so it is more than natural to forward your comments to our Management team.

Thank you once again for cooperation and valuable suggestions!
