Automated Recovery (via DVD when restarting)

Thread needs solution

Hey all,

Just wondering if its possible to create a bootable DVD with my .tib file and trueimagecmd.exe on it that runs an autoexec.bat with the following parameters for trueimagecmd:

trueimagecmd /deploy /filename:*name-of-backup*.tib /target_harddisk:1

actually, I already know it is... ive done it... but, my trueimagecmd.exe tells me it cant run in DOS...

First, is my trueimagecmd command mis-used?
Do I have to get a different version of trueimagecmd.exe for me to be able to restore my image automatically in DOS?

or is there another way of doing this without trueimagecmd.exe?
(My task is to restore Windows 7 with an automated process that only requires the DVD in the PC and it to be booted up...)

Or should I check out Norton Ghost for this type of dilemma? =P

thanks for your speedily replies (this task is due in a week)

Hello Xthlon Marks,

Thank you very much for your post. I will be happy to assist you.

Unfortunately, trueimagecmd.exe will not run in DOS. As a workaround, you can try to create a bootable DVD with the backup saved to it.

For example, in Acronis True Image 2010 Home backup task creation, you can toggle the following option: Removable Media Settings->Place Acronis True Image Home (Full version) on media. Please check this screenshot for details.

This way, you can boot from your DVD and restore an image from it immediately.

You can purchase Acronis True Image 2010 Home from this link.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
